Godaddy is one of the larger, but not as well-known as other hosting providers such as Hostgator and Bluehost. Godaddy is a very good option for those new to the online world as they offer some really cheap deals which can be afforded by beginner users.

With Godaddy you don’t just get a domain name, you get a domain name and hosting all in one. This means that the price you see advertised is for both items together. That’s not to say though that Godaddy are cheaper than other providers because they’re not. They just offer different deals which may be attractive to users who aren’t planning on having many websites or need more storage space. Here are some of the key Godaddy deals that are available.

How much does GoDaddy charge per month?

GoDaddy offers different hosting plans to meet the needs of their customers. For new websites, GoDaddy recommends shared hosting, which is the cheapest option. A beginner website would start at $2.75 per month, or less than $30 per year for unlimited disk space and bandwidth (bandwidth refers to how much data your site can store, and how long visitors can stay on your site). These prices may vary depending on the hosting plan you choose.

An advanced website would start at $6.99 per month, or less than $80 per year for unlimited disk space and bandwidth. For high-capacity sites, such as large photo galleries or download areas, GoDaddy offers dedicated servers, which cost $299 per month, or less than $3500 per year for unlimited bandwidth and storage.

Additionally, GoDaddy offers a free domain name when you sign up for their cheapest hosting plans. This is a limited time offer that costs $14.99 per year if you decide to keep your domain after the first year is up.

Small Business. This package includes a domain name for one year, 5 GB storage space and 100 email accounts with IMAP access possible too. The packages costs $6.99 per month plus a yearly fee of $69.99 which is paid in full at the time of purchase.

Business. This also includes an annual fee but this time you will pay $10.99 per month, however it is still very competitive when compared to other hosting providers. With the business package you get unlimited storage space and domain names (you can have as many domains as you like), email accounts, IMAP access and you get priority support.

Reseller. This package is probably the best value for money and not just because it’s cheap, but also because it offers unlimited storage space and domains which is almost unheard of when looking for a real hosting package. You can put up an infinite amount of websites and there is no maximum domain name allowance either. You get email accounts and IMAP access which you can add/remove as you please. The package also comes with a free domain name but only for the first year. The reseller package costs $19.99 per month, so it isn’t cheap at all, especially when you consider that there is no maximum amount of money to be paid per month either.

 These are just some of the deals that you can take advantage off when hosting a website with Godaddy. There are many more packages available so be sure to look around before making a decision as even though the prices may seem good, they may not offer what you need. Other notable mentions include their ‘black Friday’ deals which come around twice a year in November and December. These deals are usually very good but aren’t available for long so you need to act quickly when you see one.

Godaddy is certainly worth considering if you plan on having more than 1 website, however bloggers should look to other providers for hosting due to the fact that their packages don’t offer unlimited storage like most others do. If you’re planning on having one website then Godaddy is fine, but if you plan of more than 1 then I would advise looking elsewhere first.

GoDaddy Shared Hosting

GoDaddy is one of the top names in hosting providers. They’re known best for their low prices, but how well do they live up to expectations?

I’ve had my fair share of GoDaddy-hosted sites over the years. There was one in particular where I started with a $5/month shared hosting plan and ended up changing to a $19/month Flex Dedicated Hosting plan because the site became so slow and I needed more resources.

Therefore, I don’t think that GoDaddy’s hosting plans are bad per say, but they’re not very specific in what they offer to their customers. If you need the bare minimum, these plans will probably suffice, but if you have any specific requirements, then I advise against using GoDaddy hosting.

The support isn’t bad, but again, it’s about the bare minimum. They’re not very good at helping people with anything too specific or complicated. For example, I personally ran into a problem where my site needed access to an outside API that wasn’t mine (a third-party shopping cart). GoDaddy support said they didn’t support it and suggested I use another hosting service.

However, one of the best things about GoDaddy is their domain prices. You can get cheap URL’s, cheap SSL certificates (if needed), and more through them. If you’re purchasing a new site or just looking for a new URL, I suggest checking out GoDaddy first.

GoDaddy WordPress Hosting

If you’ve ever looked for hosting for your WordPress blog, you know how many options there are. GoDaddy is one of the most popular hosting services out there, but is it good?

GoDaddy offers three different kinds of WordPress hosting: Economy ($3.99/month), Deluxe ($6.99/month) and Ultimate ($14.99/month).

Economy has 2500 MB storage, 25 GB bandwidth and 5 email accounts. Deluxe adds on the ability to create four WordPress blogs and more email accounts. Ultimate also adds Site Lock security, built-in CDN (content delivery network) and priority support.

At first glance, these all seem very reasonably priced. However, if you look closely, it turns out that these prices are actually outrageous. By using coupons and promo codes to get hosting for $0.83/month (which is the cheapest possible price) and then creating your own email accounts (again, very cheap), you can save a lot of money and still use GoDaddy.

Here’s how:

1. If you already have a domain name (e.g., “blogspot.com”), go to Site Ground and get hosting for $0.83/month. Then click “Get Started now” to get the coupon code, which gives yet another discount (bringing your price down to $0.69/month).
2. If you don’t already have a domain name, go to GoDaddy and buy one for $0.99.
3. During checkout, use the coupon code “COUPONCODE” (all caps). This will bring your price down another $1.01. You now have a WordPress blog hosted on Site Ground with 10 email accounts.
4. To sign up for GoDaddy, click here.
5. Create an account with your new domain name.
6. During checkout, use the coupon code “COUPONCODE2” (all caps). This will bring your price down another $1.01, almost to the price of Economy hosting at Godaddy.
7. When you register your second domain name, enter the coupon code “COUPONCODE3” . You should now have everything for $0.83/month.
8. There are other coupons that you can use if you want to keep this up indefinitely but these are the cheapest possible prices with only three emails accounts per domain name. To continue to use more coupons, you’ll have to give up the Site Ground coupon.
